The Australian actress was recently seen meeting with a top publisher in New York City to shop a “bold, emotional memoir about love, identity, and starting over.”
“She was all smiles, but it looked serious,” a publishing insider, who allegedly saw Furness leaving a major publisher’s building in Midtown, told British journalist Rob Shuter.
“There were sample pages, lots of notes — it had the energy of a book deal negotiation,” the source added.
While Furness has spent most of her time in her native country, Australia, following the divorce, her friends claimed she is ready to publicly tell her side of things.
“She’s reclaiming her voice,” Furness’s pal told Shuter. “She spent years being known as Hugh’s wife. Now she wants to be known for her truth.”
Page Six has reached out to reps for both Furness and Jackman, but did not immediately hear back.
Furness, 69, filed for divorce from the “Wolverine” actor, 57, in May, nearly two years after they first announced their separation.
The exes, who tied the knot in April 1996, share two adopted kids: son Oscar, 25, and daughter Ava, 20.
A year after their split, Jackman went public with his girlfriend, Sutton Foster.
In May, Furness broke her silence on “the traumatic journey of betrayal” in her failed marriage in a lengthy statement, calling the split “a profound wound that cuts deep.”
“I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us,” she wrote.
The Marvel star and Furness finalized their divorce that same month, reportedly dividing their multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio that was worth an estimated $387 million.
Last month, Jackman and Foster, 50, made their red carpet debut at the premiere of his new movie, “Song Sung Blue.”
