David Corenswet’s Must-Watch ‘Brittany Broski’s Royal Court’ Appearance is Proof the ‘Superman’ Star Has the Chops to Host ‘SNL’
James Gunn‘s Superman soared onto movie screens this past weekend, easily dominating the box office and introducing David Corenswet as cinema’s new Clark Kent. The Juilliard-trained actor simply stuns in Superman, nailing Clark Kent’s goofy charm, Kal-El’s innate strength, and the Man of Steel’s miraculous decency. However, it’s his recent viral appearance on “Brittany Broski’s Royal Court” that proves he’s got the goods to ascend to the highest heights of Hollywood. Corenswet is so funny, so charming, and so quick on the popular YouTube series, all I could think while watching was, “Oh my god, he’s got to host Saturday Night Live this fall!”
It’s common knowledge in 2025 that stars no longer can simply rely on late night appearances and magazine profiles to sell movie tickets. They now have to humble themselves eating hot wings, playing with puppies, or going on a chicken shop date for the delight of the internet. As part of David Corenswet’s recent Superman press tour, he and his co-stars gamely tried international snacks, underwent a lie detector test, and, yes, swung by Buzzfeed to play with some darn adorable puppies! However, the YouTube appearance that rightfully is getting eagerly picked up by social media this week is Corenswet’s visit to “Brittany Broski’s Royal Court.”

For those of you not in the know, Brittany Broski first shot to internet fame as “kombucha girl.” As in, yes, she is that young woman whose hilarious ambiguous reactions to a single sip of kombucha became an instantly ubiquitous reaction gif. Unlike most people who chance themselves into internet fame via a single meme, Broski has used that opportunity to build her own online empire steeped in her own incredibly sharp wit, nerdy obsessions, and relatable personality. “Brittany Broski’s Royal Court” is her goofy, Camelot-tinged hangout show where she’s vibed with everyone from Trixie Mattel to Diego Luna, and now David Corenswet.
The thing about David Corenswet’s visit to “Royal Court” is that he fully commits from the jump. He arrives on set cocooned in a royal blue velour cloak, like some kind of goofy crusader, armed with a sword and great attitude. Over the course of their 25-minute-long conversation, Corenswet and Broski share comedy influences, joke about his love of Megan Hilty and Smash, and go deep on the ethics of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. It’s an infectious watch, made all the better by Corenswet’s own eagerness to poke fun at himself at every turn.
As someone who has watched David Corenswet in everything from Ryan Murphy joints like Hollywood and The Politician to HBO’s We Own This City and last summer’s Twisters, I knew he had the range to play a great onscreen Superman. What I did not realize until I saw him namedrop A Bit of Fry and Laurie as an influence on his own sketch series “Moe and Jerryweather” was that he also has immense comedy chops. His timing is impeccable, his improv skills great, and he even slips into multiple accents. All talents that great SNL hosts need.
I mean it. I saw David Corenswet’s “Royal Court” appearance as a low key stealth SNL host audition. Was that front of mind for the actor? Of course not. Was it all I could think about watching the video? YES.
Corenswet is so fun in this low key press appearance that I’m dying to see him show off those comic skills on a bigger stage. He literally proves in this video that he has the precision, polish, and positive energy to be a killer SNL host. He’s got the elusive mix of eager theater kid energy, classical theater training, and innate humor that the gig demands.
Here’s hoping that Lorne Michaels has noticed that Hollywood’s new favorite superhero could fit in at 30 Rock. And if he doesn’t, here’s hoping you give the full David Corenswet episode of “Brittany Broski’s Royal Court” a watch.
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
