Daniel Jones left bleeding from his mouth on Colts’ game-tying drive

Daniel Jones’ career comeback had another highlight on Sunday, when he bloodied his mouth on a game-tying drive in an eventual overtime win by the Indianapolis Colts over the Atlanta Falcons.

On the key drive that tied the game, Jones was forced to scramble 19 yards and was knocked out of bounds and into a bench on the Falcons sideline.

He fell face-first, which left him with a bloody lip that was picked up by the NFL Network cameras.

That set up a fourth-and-2 and Jones was able to recover enough to hit tight end Tyler Warren for a first down to keep the drive alive with his face still bloodied.

Indianapolis got a 44-yard field goal from Michael Badgley to force overtime.

After the 31-25 victory in Berlin, the cut on Jones’ mouth was no longer bloody.

By then, though, Jones had led the Colts to another win as he brings his career off the mat following his flameout with the Giants a year ago, when the quarterback was released not long after the Big Blue lost in Berlin last November.

He then signed with the Minnesota Vikings for the rest of the season before inking a one-year deal with the Colts, where he’s emerged as a potential MVP candidate.

Jones has thrown for 2.659 yards, 15 touchdowns and just seven interceptions while completing 69.9 percent of his passes with the Colts sitting at 8-2.
