Dan Quinn bloodied after head-on collision with Marcus Mariota
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn led his team back to the locker room at halftime with a 20-10 lead — and a nasty cut in need of medical assistance.
With less than ten seconds remaining in the second quarter of Washington’s eventual 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday at Northwest Stadium, Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota got shoved out of bounds on a 3-yard rush and ran straight into Quinn on the sideline — giving his coach a nasty cut on the bridge of his nose.

But Quinn, a former defensive lineman at DIII Salisbury University, is no stranger to taking a hit.
The 55-year-old head coach popped back up to his feet, sporting the fresh gash, casually wiped away the blood with a towel, and proceeded to celebrate as his team knocked in a field goal while time expired.
The Commanders then went back to the tunnel for halftime, where plenty of trainers were there to greet Quinn.
Washington established an early lead on a touchdown rush from Mariota, who filled in at quarterback after Jayden Daniels suffered a knee sprain in their Week 2 loss against the Green Bay Packers.
Mariota went 15-for-21 with 207 yards passing and a touchdown, adding 40 yards rushing and a rushing score. He was sacked once and lost a fumble.
The Commanders (2-1) visit the Falcons (1-2) next week.
