The content creators are demanding that the baristas brew their favorite fall-themed drinks in the gourds to maximize the seasonal experience.
However, not everyone is enamored by the new fall trend, with some saying it’s a “health violation.”

One video with 352,400 views shows a woman named Cynthia Venegas scanning a small pumpkin at a grocery store with the text on the video reading, “Your sign to take your mini pumpkin to Starbucks.”
It shows the barista making the drink directly inside the carved-out pumpkin, topping it with whipped cream.

Another video showed a barista’s excited face when the user handed her the pumpkin from the drive-thru line.
“I’m going to ring you up for a tall. If it’s a little more than that, we’ll just cover it in Cool Whip,” the worker said. “I absolutely adore this.”
However, not every Starbucks is pumped about the pumpkins.
Some content creators were turned down when they asked for their drink to be made directly inside the gourd.
And many viewers are peeved by the gimmick, calling out influencers for making the Starbucks baristas’ jobs harder than they need be.
“Let’s NOT start this and make it a thing… Starbucks are gonna start banning pumpkins,” one wrote.
“Cute, but I wouldn’t do it. Poor Starbucks workers. They go through the most,” another spluttered.
“As an ex-barista, it’s a cute trend, but most locations are already so busy. Why not just buy the drink you want and put it in there yourself?” questioned a third.
Several Starbucks employees slapped down the TikTok trend, too.
“My store denies using pumpkins as personal cups [just so you know] it won’t work everywhere,” one worker warned.
“I’m allergic to pumpkins, so please don’t come to my store doing this,” a second said.
“As a barista, please don’t. I know it’s cute ,but we aren’t supposed to grab food from outside. Fast food policies are strict and we could even lose our jobs,” another shared.
Others also pointed out the potential safety and sanitary risks of partaking in this trend.
“It’s a health violation, unfortunately,” one declared.
