Crude Craig Carton’s WFAN return allows him to be what he really is

With his return to the vast radio wasteland that is WFAN, Craig Carton has been released from a prison for a second time, having left the bright lights of his Fox Sports show from which he faded from view and his ill-gained fame. 

Now he can again return to being a crude, name-calling, excrement-reliant junk-talker often misidentified in polite profiles as “bold” and “outspoken” when he’s just another nickel-a-dozen shock jock. 

Then there’s the question of how the fact that his gambling addiction led to his incarceration will work on a station that is wedded to dubious sucker-gambling advertising that allows FAN to keep its lights on. Last year, Carton did, after all, tout NFL games on Will Cain’s Fox show. 

As for his bold outspokenness, he’s a master of bullying the defenseless. Once his targets are in the house, however, he turns into Mike Francesa, pretending he never attacked his special guest.
