Cowboy gallops through Target on horseback leaving staff to clean up mess

A man enters a Target store on a horse, poos, then leaves.

No, this is not the beginning of a bad joke, but in fact, a real news story.

In case you didn’t already think America was a completely unserious place already, now you will.

In the viral footage, a cowboy-hat-wearing man and his friend hop on a horse, presumably theirs, in the car park of a Target at night.

They then enter the automatic doors and begin galloping through the aisles, cackling like cowboys in a Western riding off into the sunset, except it was just aisle three and they were surrounded by stationary.

Before you ask, yes, this was in Dallas, Texas, but that doesn’t make it any less shocking in my opinion.

Another POV, from the back seat driver (rider?), shows the pair passing by and interacting with other shoppers, who laugh as they watch on in disbelief. One woman even pats it like it’s a completely normal thing to do while you’re going for your nightly Target run.

“Did you see that? It’s a horse!” one exclaims.

The viral video was posted by Pro Horse Racer @cowboyatheart82. @cowboyatheart82/Instagram

“Sir, what?” another asks.

Within seconds, staff begin getting wind of what’s going on and frantically scramble to put an end to all the horsing around.

They grab their walkie-talkies and begin running around to try and catch the cowboys on the loose.

In the meantime, the narrator of the clip – the guy on the back of the horse – says, “I hope he don’t crap, I hope he don’t crap,” but right after, the camera pans to the floor, where the horse has, in fact, crapped.

This prompts an employee to yell out, “Get out of the store with that horse!” as if the pooing was the final straw and not the literal horse itself.

The men politely left the store with the horse, but not before some employees let him know his horse was “so beautiful.”

The viral video was filmed at a Target in Dallas, Texas, and has racked up more than six million views. @cowboyatheart82/Instagram

They will get a speaking to later.

The clip has since racked up over six million views, which, in my opinion, is six million not enough, because it is one of the funniest things I have seen on the internet all year. All two weeks of it.

And commenters seemed to agree.

“Love this! Maybe just bring something to catch the poop. That’s so rude and disrespectful,” one woman who was clearly confused about where she stood on the clip wrote.

“Y’all bring dogs in, why can’t my emotional support horse come in?” another person very rightly pointed out.

It turns out, it’s not the first time these men have done something like this.

The main guy’s name is Stephen Harmon, and according to his Instagram Bio – which is like the LinkedIn page of the modern era – he’s a Pro Horse Racer of over 15 years.

And it turns out, his side hustle is content creation – namely, going into stores with his horse and racking up hundreds of thousands, often millions of views.

He’s gone into shops like Tractor Supply, which is a store that supplies tractors, and promptly been told to get out as he was a liability.

He’s also taken his horse into a petrol station, grabbed some snacks, and then left.

The horse ended up going to the bathroom on the retail store’s floor during the escapade. @cowboyatheart82/Instagram

And then there was the time he took his horse through a fast-food drive-thru, where an employee came outside to take their orders. Very respectful.

In another story that sounds like it shouldn’t be true but is, a grandma from Florida appeared on Good Morning America a few weeks ago with her pet Alligator, Myrtle.

She said she takes her to the supermarket and tries never to leave her at home.

“She gets cranky if I don’t include her,” the woman said.

When the host asked her what it’s like to live with an alligator, she replied: “Like living with a scaly cat that loves sunshine. She hogs the porch and snores louder than my late husband.”

And that’s enough news for today.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
