Colton Underwood Is Under Fire In ‘The Traitors’ Season 4, Both In The Castle And On Social Media

Colton Underwood has gotta go. That’s not just Lisa Rinna’s sentiment as of the latest episode of The Traitors Season 4, it seems to be the way the audience feels, too.
After quickly emerging as this season’s presumptive king of the Faithfuls — a role previously occupied by Pilot Pete in Season 2 and Dylan Efron in Season 3 — the former Bachelor has just as quickly found himself in the hotseat with his fellow Faithfuls, the Traitors, and even the fans.

Even before making his debut in Season 4 of the Alan Cumming-hosted competition series, some were feeling uneasy over his casting, with many bringing up his ex-fiancée, Cassie Randolph, filing a restraining order against him and accusing him of stalking. The details of the situation were more recently rehashed by Demi Burnett, one of the contestants on Colton’s season of The Bachelor.
In a now-viral video, Burnett said, “I would like for someone to hold him accountable,” with responses piling up from fans and reality stars alike, with The Valley‘s Jasmine Goode responding, “🗣️Speak on it!!! 👏🏾👏🏾.” Additionally, The Traitors Season 2 winner Trishelle Cannatella responded on Instagram, writing, “Men in reality tv are NEVER held accountable and I have been screaming this for years!”
It is worth noting that some have pointed to Colton’s alleged behavior — which never went to court as the two parties settled the matter privately — and offered up that it may have been impacted by his struggles with his sexuality. After his time on The Bachelor and his breakup with Randolph, Colton came out as gay, telling the world that he had been blackmailed into opening up publicly. He has since gotten married and welcomed a son with his husband.
As far as the show is concerned, it appears as though Colton’s luck in the castle may now be running out. After mistakenly identifying Big Brother‘s Tiffany Mitchell as a Traitor, resulting in her banishment from the game, some in the Faithful camp have begun to question Colton’s leadership abilities and his true motivations. In fact, at the most recent roundtable, Colton was accused of doing the same thing that Michael Rapaport accused him of prior to his banishment, i.e., bringing up the name of someone completely new and derailing the plan formulated by his teammates.
While “conniving, colluding, commiserating” Colton was also behind Rapaport’s banishment in Episode 5, even he admitted that it was less about aiming to take out a Traitor than it was about getting rid of a bad Faithful. It’s the kind of chaos that got Rapaport taken out, and is now putting heat on the former Bachelor. That chaos ultimately led to four players voting to send him packing, making it nearly a three-way tie to banish between Ron Funches, Lisa Rinna, and Colton. At one point, he even threatened to take Lisa down with him, which some fans felt was too personal.
Another viral TikTok posted by a creator who goes by Bravholics Anonymous posed a question about why he only seems to be hunting women he suspects of being Traitors.
“I’m sitting here watching Traitors, and I can’t help but notice Colton is only going after women. What do we think of that?” the creator says in the video, which has nearly 50,000 likes on it and hundreds of comments. One particular comment, however, was hoisted to the top of the comment section by fans of the show as Lisa Rinna wrote, “I know what I think of that.”
While Lisa and Colton appeared to bury the hatchet after the roundtable, albeit superficially, heading into Episode 7, it feels like Colton is still very much top of mind for the Faithfuls, the Traitors, and the fans to go home next.
