In the first picture, Baranski, 75, posed in a shimmery silver suit as she wrapped an arm around King Princess, 26, who wore a newspaper-inspired button-down blouse with black trousers.
The singer-songwriter cheekily captioned the photo with a hashtag that reads: “Love is Love.”
Reps for Baranski quickly shut down the romance rumors, telling Page Six that the conversations surrounding the two star’s connection “is pure speculation.”
“Christine and King Princess are strictly friends and nothing more. They have never been in a relationship, nor are they now,” the spokesperson added.
Reps for King Princess did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Still, fans seem to be excited by the idea of a relationship between the women.
“I don’t know if this is a joke but I love it either way,” one Instagram user commented under King Princess’ post.
“How does it feel to live every queer persons dream,” another wrote. Meanwhile, a third user shared: “Please let this be real. The gays need a win.”
The two stars met in 2024 on the set of “Nine Perfect Strangers,” where the “Mamma Mia” star formed a close bond with her co-star, who publicly identifies as a lesbian.
“We sat at the bar, ordered our martinis, and suddenly we’re talking about our grandmothers who deeply affected and influenced our lives. I think that’s where we profoundly bonded,” Baranski recalled of their meeting for Interview Magazine in May.
While a romance may be off the table, Baranski definitely seems grateful for the relationship they’ve formed.
In the May interview, she described their friendship as “the greatest gift,” calling King Princess a “wildly talented young woman who’s so opinionated, deeply funny and witty.”
“We’ve curiously bonded and wanted to remain friends. That’s a great gift,” she said.
Baranski previously tied the knot with British actor Matthew Cowles in 1983. They were married until his death in 2014.
King Princess has been previously linked to actress Amandla Stenberg and creative director Quinn Wilson.
