Nay to city horses

Regarding “A New Assault on the Carriage Horses” (Editorial, Aug. 14): The Post is on the wrong side.

Our visit to New York City was ruined by seeing those dejected horses hauling heavy loads in the scorching heat. Is there any doubt they don’t belong in New York City?

Countless horses have suffered in the cruel carriage trade. They haul in sweltering or frigid conditions, and when not working, are stored like equipment with no sunlight, no grass and no pasture. No one with a conscience would support this egregious cruelty.

Jimmy Kimmel has secured an Italian passport so he can flee Trump Derangement Syndrome (“Kimmel may flee Don’s US,” Aug. 13).

Maybe the Statue of Liberty can step down and boot his unfunny behind to Italy.

KC grocery fail

The Kansas City government-operated grocery store just closed (“KC padlocks its ‘Zocialist’ grocery,” Aug. 13).

Zohran Mamdani’s proposed stores will face the same fate. That means food shortages. If you New Yorkers elect him, where will you get your groceries?

The city has an abundance of rats, so there is no meat supply issue here. Perhaps, the wealthy communist Zohran might then ceremoniously share a rat, lettuce and tomato sandwich with you at some point in the future, once he is convinced to leave his mayoral mansion.

Cuomo’s nonsense

Andrew Cuomo has been making grandiose promises for nearly 25 years. How is it that people still believe him(“Andrew’s Anti-NYC Record,” Editorial, Aug. 11)?

How much bull can a Democrat eat and still ask for more of? It appears they have an unlimited appetite for the stuff.

DOE’s testing tout

At the least, it is insulting to all New Yorkers to see the Department of Education claim some type of Pyrrhic victory with the latest test scores after spending the highest per pupil amount in the country (“DOE touts slight test boost,” Aug. 12).

Sadly, this is an annual ritual of abject failure and total collapse on display.

Leave the meat be

After reading Steve Cuozzo’s article about plant-based restaurant Eleven Madison Park throwing in the towel and going back to serving meat, fish and dairy products, I have a faint glimmer of hope that the will of the people will ultimately prevail against those who would force us to conform to myriad woke dictates (“Switch-a-moo,” Aug. 15).

People like what they like, and we all should live and let live.

Cop-killer parole

Anyone who executes a police officer should either receive the death penalty or life without the chance of parole (“Finest family padlock plea,” Aug. 10).

To put the families of these slain heroes through the agony of parole hearings for the animals who took the lives of their loved ones is cruel and immoral.

The fact that, since 2017, 43 cop-killers have been paroled shows you where the minds of our politicians and Parole Board are: the rat-infested sewers of New York City.
