Thomas missed a 15-foot step back with 6:46 left in the first quarter Wednesday night against the Pacers, appearing to hurt himself on the landing. He jogged gingerly back upcourt and called to the bench for a sub, checking out :21 later.

The 24-year-old shooting guard was quickly ruled out for the rest of the night by Brooklyn with left hamstring tightness. The severity of the injury is unclear.
Thomas had hurt the same hamstring three times last season, when he averaged a team-high 24.0 points on 438/349/881 shooting splits but was limited to just a total of 25 games.
After failing to come to a long-term contract extension with the Nets last summer as a restricted free agent, Thomas returned on a one-year $5.99 million qualifying offer. It was a huge bet on himself, now a restricted free agent.
But an injury in a walk year could be catastrophic for Thomas’ bottom line.
Following his scoreless 5:35 on Wednesday night, Thomas is averaging 21.4 points on .402/.356/.875 shooting in eight games. Brooklyn hosts the Pistons on Friday.
