“There’s always going to be people saying negative things, but I have a very supportive wife,” Brooklyn told the Daily Mail during the Ryder Cup All-Star match on Wednesday. “Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.”
The former model added that he “never” worries about what people think about his personal life.
“Everyone is always going to say rubbish,” he continued. “I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun.”
Brooklyn was at the Bethpage Black golf course in New York this week to compete in the Ryder Cup All-Star match, which sees an eight-player team from the US face off against an eight-player team from Europe.
The eldest Beckham son joined NBA star Toni Kukoč in a matchup against “SNL” star Colin Jost and NFL legend Eli Manning, although Team USA ultimately came out on top.
“I feel like they didn’t like me at all,” Brooklyn said of the American crowd, “but it was amazing.”
“They gave me a bit of rubbish, but I kind of expected it – being in New York, going against Eli – they were just laughing,” he continued. “But it is what it is. I was having fun out there. I did the best I could. It was honestly just really fun.”
Although his famous dad David’s soccer team, Inter Miami, had a game in New York on Wednesday night, Brooklyn revealed that he would not be sticking around because he had to return home to his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, in Los Angeles.
“I have to go back,” he told the outlet. “I left my wife with our four dogs on her own, so I have to go back and help out and get back to work.”
While the rumored Beckham family feud started after Brooklyn and Peltz, 30, failed to attend David’s 50th birthday party back in May, tensions between the family members date back to the couple’s Palm Beach wedding in April 2022.
Victoria, 51, allegedly made Peltz cry after hijacking the newlywed couple’s first dance following the lavish ceremony.
Brooklyn and his brother, Romeo, 23, then reportedly butted heads after the younger Beckham brother started dating Kim Turnbull, Brooklyn’s rumored ex.
Insiders claimed Brooklyn and Peltz refused to attend David’s 50th birthday bash in London because they couldn’t be in the same room as Romeo and Turnbull, who allegedly broke up in June due to the “strain” of the ongoing drama of their relationship.
“Romeo and Kim did split because of the family drama,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “It was mutual. It was just too much pressure and tension looming over them.”
“It put a lot of strain on them, and there was no path forward,” the source added. “It was unfortunate that it got to that point, but family comes first for Romeo.”
More recently, Brooklyn and his wife renewed their vows without the other Beckham family members in attendance.
“The event is about honoring the love and commitment they’ve built together over the years, and creating a memory that will stay with them forever,” a source told People after the couple’s Aug. 2 ceremony.
David, however, appeared to offer his son an olive branch last month when he liked one of Brooklyn’s Instagram posts.
