Brace for a blizzard of calls for needlessly painful measures as Climate Week descends on NY

Starting Sunday, Climate Week NYC will blare out propaganda aiming to “drive the transition,” shift “entire systems” and “speed up progress” toward “changing climate.”

God help us.

The event, much like the entire climate-apocalypse movement, will use fear to push draconian measures that’ll slow the economy and sow widespread misery.

Organizers boast of 1,000 events over the course of the week, all in a vain bid to lower the planet’s temperature.

Climate change is real and worthy of concern — but the climate warriors’ worries are woefully overblown and their plans far more costly than any possible benefits.

In a recent study, Dutch engineer Hessel Voortman and researcher Rob de Vos showed sea levels are not rising faster than a century ago, despite alarmists’ contentions.

Hysteria over the Great Barrier Reef’s decline has also proved unfounded: Yes, the reef shrank between 2000 and 2012, but then started growing, and despite some decline this year, it’s at its fourth-largest size ever.

Media reports incessantly blame wildfires on global warming, but data shows the world has been experiencing fewer of them.

Nor have polar bears or the ice caps vanished, as predicted.

On the other hand, the radicals’ “solutions” — giving up fossil fuels and switching to extremely expensive and less reliable renewable energy — will only sock the world’s economy and make it harder to take practical steps (e.g., building berms to guard against sea surges) to address climate threats.

And consider this: Even if climate change is left unchecked, it won’t slow the global economy much, as even estimates by UN climate experts themselves show.

Yet the doomsday predictions never cease. Expect to hear them throughout Climate Week.

The event’s organizers say it’s critical to cut carbon emissions to zero by 2050 (which won’t happen), but rest easy: Recall that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned in 2019 that the world would end in 12 years if we failed to address climate change; does anyone think we only have six years left?

It was nearly 20 years ago that Al Gore warned the world had only 10 years to solve our climate woes.

Climate Week activists are free to fear-monger. But everyone else is free to ignore them — and should.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
