Body of man in his 30s, still wearing month-old hospital bracelet, found floating in NYC waterway: cops, sources



The body of a man in his 30s – still wearing a hospital bracelet from last month – was found floating in Newtown Creek just off an industrial area of Brooklyn Thursday, cops and sources said. 

Officers found the unidentified man’s body in the polluted waterway just off North Henry Street and Kingsland Avenue in Greenpoint when they responded to a 911 call around 12:15 p.m., police said.

The unconscious and unresponsive man was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, authorities said.

He was still wearing a bracelet from an unknown hospital with an August date on it, according to police sources. 

The city medical examiner’s office will officially determine how he died. 

The disturbing discovery comes a week after the decomposed body of an unidentified man was found floating in the same creek just off Malt Drive in Long Island City, police said.

And back in July, popular Big Apple DJ Reda Briki, 52, was found dead on a houseboat docked at Railroad and Greenpoint avenues in the Newtown Creek Marina, sources said.

The circumstances of both deaths remain under investigation.
