Bo Bichette’s Phillies meeting with went ‘very well’ as Yankees lurk
Unlike the Eagles, it seems the Phillies executed well in a big spot.
Free agent Bo Bichette’s meeting Monday with the franchise went “very well,” according to The Post’s Jon Heyman, which should help their chances of signing him since he admires the “first-class” organization.

The Phillies’ pursuit of Bichette has Yankees implications since they are interested in the Blue Jays’ shortstop amid their lingering talks with outfielder Cody Bellinger.
Bichette, 27, is one of the top free agents available, and with spring training roughly one month away, it seems he will be leaving Toronto.
The Yankees and Phillies have been linked to him in recent weeks, and it seems talks are intensifying with Philadelphia in its quest to keep up with the Dodgers in the NL.
While it ultimately will come down to the money, like with virtually every free agent, Heyman noted that the reigning NL East champions have several positive factors to pedal.
The talented roster, the hitter-friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park, the recent hiring of ex-Toronto bench coach Don Mattingly to serve in that same role and the team’s spring training complex in Clearwater, Fla., being near the infielder’s home are all selling points for the franchise.
There would be roster construction questions regarding such a move, including whether the team would possibly trade third baseman Alec Bohm and possibly not re-sign catcher J.T. Realmuto.
It’s uncertain whether he would play second base or third base since the Phillies have Trea Turner on a long-term deal to man shortstop, but top baseball exec Dave Dombrowski is always aggressive.
Should Bichette head to the City of Brotherly Love, it leaves one less option for the Yankees if they decide not to meet Cody Bellinger’s contract asks.
The Yankees have offered $155 million over five years, but Bellinger wants a seven-year partnership.
The other top bat still available is Kyle Tucker, but the Mets — not the Yankees — are the New York team that has been linked to him.
