Bo Bichette meeting with Phillies as Yankees interest picks up

Bo Bichette’s market is heating up. 

The star free agent is set to meet with the Phillies on Monday, according to The Post’s Jon Heyman, who added that it “feels like there’s strong mutual interest” between the two sides.

In the event the Phillies sign Bichette, they would likely move on from catcher J.T. Realmuto and trade away third baseman Alec Bohm, per The Athletic. 

The news comes after Heyman reported that the Yankees are looking “seriously” at Bichette as talks with outfielder Cody Bellinger drag on. 

Bichette, who turns 28 in March, is thought to be looking for a deal in the $300 million range. 

The Red Sox, Cubs and Dodgers, among other teams, are rumored to have varying amounts of interest in Bichette. 

Bichette, who has played his entire seven-year career in Toronto, could still reunite with the Blue Jays, but the franchise has been busy this winter. 

Toronto has added All-Star pitcher Dylan Cease, ex-Mets reliever Tyler Rogers, Japanese infielder Kazuma Okamoto and KBO MVP Cody Ponce already this offseason. 

They are also reportedly showing interest in star outfielder Kyle Tucker, who is expected to get even more money than Bichette in free agency.

Bichette is coming off one of the best offensive seasons of his career, slashing .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs. 

He finished behind only Aaron Judge (.331) in the American League batting title race.

After missing a month and a half with a knee injury, Bichette returned and starred for the Blue Jays in the World Series, hitting .348/.444/.478 across seven games.

A longtime shortstop, Bichette is reportedly willing to move to second base for the right team.
