New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Freaky Tales, Wednesday + More

Claire and Jamie aren’t the only century-hopping lovers to do the thing; in Outlander: Blood of My Blood, we’ll be introduced to the parents of the infamous Outlander lovers who have their own historical love stories, too. The new series arrives to Starz on Friday. This week also marks the arrival of Wednesday season 2; you can catch the first four episodes of the season on Netflix now. And if you’re in the mood for a star-studded movie, Freaky Tales boasts some of our most beloved actors, including Pedro Pascal and Tom Hanks (it also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, and Normani).

Outlander fans are about to get a couple of new timelines to obsess over now that Outlander: Blood of My Blood is premiering on Starz. The new series, a prequel to the original show, explores the lives and romances of Claire and Jamie’s parents. Jamie’s parents’ story is set in 18th century Scotland and they’ll be played by Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy; we’ll see Claire’s parents, portrayed by Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine, as they deal with the looming threats of World War I.

New on Netflix August 6: Wednesday (Season 2)

Jenna Ortega shot to fame after her debut as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s Wednesday, which is one reason that it took three years for season two to be made, but the show is finally back this week. You can catch the first four episodes of the season now; the second half of the season will drop in early September.

New on HBO Max August 8: Freaky Tales

Freaky Tales is an entertaining anthology film written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck that weaves together four separate stories of people living in Oakland in 1987.
