BLM protesters hijack LA Police Commission meeting

Unruly Black Lives Matter protesters hijacked a Los Angeles Police Commission meeting Tuesday — abruptly shutting down the session and forcing officials to clear the room.
The wild takeover occurred despite the best efforts of newly installed commission President Teresa Sánchez-Gordon to regain control by demanding order from the chanting demonstrators, who drowned out speakers and brought the panel’s official business to a standstill.

The protesters were rallying behind the family of Keith Porter, 43, who was fatally shot in LA on New Year’s Eve by an off-duty federal immigration agent.
The disruption was no spontaneous outburst.
BLM Los Angeles had openly organized the action days in advance, urging its supporters to pack the commission’s public-comment period, seize the floor and demand the arrest of the ICE agent involved in the shooting.
At least one attendee wore clothing emblazoned with “F–k the police,” imagery increasingly seen inside Los Angeles government buildings, not just on the streets.
Only a week earlier, the same activist network was granted sanctioned access to Los Angeles City Hall for a blistering anti-police, anti-ICE presentation — an event greenlit and hosted by far-left Democratic Socialists of America Councilwoman Eunisses Hernandez.
That presentation took place in a restricted City Hall area typically reserved for official proceedings and unfolded uninterrupted for roughly 15 minutes.
Speakers called to abolish the police, slash LAPD funding and divest from law enforcement entirely.
Attendees at that event wore “Abolish Police” jackets and shirts reading “F–k the police.”
One participant wore a keffiyeh, a symbol increasingly visible at far-left anti-Israel demonstrations.
Both events have been centered on the fatal shooting of Porter, who authorities say fired a rifle into the air outside the off-duty agent’s home.
“The suspected gunfire grew progressively louder, indicating to the officer that whoever was firing a gun was approaching his apartment,” wrote Department of Homeland Security rep Tricia McLaughlin in a statement.
“The officer took his ICE authorized firearm and left his apartment to investigate. He moved to the ground level and went outside, where he believed the suspected gunfire was coming from.
“The ICE officer identified himself as law enforcement,” the statement said. “In response, the individual pointed his weapon at the ICE officer.
“The officer ordered the subject to put the weapon down. When the subject refused to comply, the officer fired defensively with his service weapon at the subject to disarm him. The subject fired at least three rounds at the officer.”
Porter’s family and activists have argued that the slain man was just firing off his gun to celebrate the new year and that the off-duty ICE agent overreacted.
