Bill Belichick will work as analyst for ACC Network’s coverage of CFP national championship game

Bill Belichick will be in the building for the College Football Playoff national championship game on Monday — but rather than coaching on the sidelines, he will be up in the broadcasting booth.

Belichick is expected to join the ACC Network’s coverage of the championship game at Hard Rock Stadium as a guest analyst before Indiana and Miami face off, ESPN announced Friday.

This will not be the first time that the North Carolina head coach has been on screen, as he previously worked with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions in between his coaching tenure with the Patriots and the University of North Carolina.

Belichick was a recurring guest on the “ManningCast” alternate broadcast of “Monday Night Football” during the 2024 NFL season.

This comes after Belichick experienced a disastrous inaugural season with the Tar Heels, finishing with a 4-8 record and remaining as a bottom-feeder in the ACC.

Belichick has been busy landing players in the offseason so far, however, acquiring former Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. — who played in just two games for the Badgers before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 — earlier this month.

In December, Belichick blew up his coaching staff at UNC, firing offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens and special teams coordinator Mike Priefer.

“We want to thank Coach Kitchens and Coach Priefer for their commitment and many contributions to our program and student-athletes,” Belichick said in a statement. “We wish them both nothing but the best in their future endeavors.”

Belichick’s relationship with Jordon Husdon — who was a regular presence at North Carolina games in 2025 — also loomed over his first NCAA season, with ex-ESPN personality Pablo Torre running stories that claimed the 24-year-old was detrimental to the football program, along with alleging she was barred from entering UNC facilities.

Hudson said in an Instagram caption in November that she is suing Torre for his claims made on his podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out” in May.

“P.S. I’m suing you @pstorre,” Hudson wrote on Instagram in November.
