Bengals haven’t had trade talks for veteran QB as Jake Browning struggles
The Bengals were routed in each of their past two games without starting quarterback Joe Burrow, but Cincinnati coach Zach Taylor insisted this week that his confidence in backup Jake Browning is “unwavering.”
So much so, in fact, that the Bengals haven’t had any discussions with other NFL teams about trading for a more proven quarterback with the Nov. 4 trade deadline less than a month away, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Accomplished quarterbacks such as Russell Wilson of the Giants, Kirk Cousins of the Falcons and Joe Flacco of the Browns currently serve as backups on their teams.
Burrow is expected to miss at least three months after undergoing toe surgery in September.
The Bengals opened the season with two wins before getting outscored by a combined score of 76-13 the past two weeks against the Vikings and the Broncos entering Sunday’s home game against the Lions.

Browning, who led Cincinnati to a 4-3 record while Burrow was sidelined in 2023, threw two interceptions in the Week 3 loss to the Vikings and registered just 125 passing yards last week against the Broncos.
The other quarterback on the Bengals roster is veteran journeyman Brett Rypien.
