‘Below Deck Med’ Star Joe Bradley Teases “Unapologetically Chaotic” Love Triangle With Kizzi Kitchener & Victoria SanJuan

Joe Bradley is back on Below Deck Mediterranean and all is right in the yachting world. After Captain Sandy Yawn fired two deckhands, Christian Trimino and Tessa Budd, in one day on the recommendation of Bosun Nathan Gallagher, she sent out a S.O.S text to a few of her favorite yachties to see if they could join the charter season already in progress. Luckily, Bradley was available and happy to be there for his pal Gallagher as he made a major career move. “Being a bosun is very hard,” said Bradley. “It’s not only the level of work and the manual labor, you also have to be organized.” Bradley was all too happy to “support another man’s job,” especially one he’s so close with.
During his last season working under Yawn, Bradley got a reputation for being a bit of a flirt when he got in a love triangle with stews Bri Muller and Ellie Dubaich. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it looks like history is doomed to repeat itself. Bradley knew he was in trouble from the moment his “toe stepped on board” and he met Season 10 stews Kizzi Kitchener and Victoria “V” SanJuan. While Bradley was initially attracted to Kizzi for her easy “banter,” V’s gorgeous “lion’s mane” hair drew him in as well. When asked what we can expect from his dynamic with the two women, Bradley played coy. “It’s unapologetically chaotic,” teased Bradley with a twinkle in his eye.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the reunion between Gallagher and former deckhand Gael Cameron. He met her last season, and they entered into a relationship. They were on a break at the start of Season 10, and Cameron’w visit is still to come this season. Bradley admits Gallagher was initially “nervous” to see her again. “He loves this woman,” said Bradley plainly. (Just so you know, the two of them are now proud parents of their son, Kayden). Bradley and Cameron were not on the best terms last they saw each other. However, Bradley is open to making “amends.” “If there are any melodramatics or any animosity, I”d like to throw them down in the bin and start fresh,” said Bradley.
Bradley stopped by the Decider studio to talk about his return to the franchise, share his thoughts on the deck team, and reveal where he stands with Southern Hospitality star Joe Bradley after he accidentally outed his relationship.
DECIDER: Joe, how does it feel to be back on Below Deck Med?
JOE BRADLEY: Fantastic. Captain Sandy is a G. I have actually looked up to this woman for so much of my career. To be able to have the opportunity to work with her again has just been a gift. Did you have any hesitations about another season or was it full steam ahead? Full steam ahead. I have not stopped working for the past four years. Even now, I’ve just jumped off a boat. I’m just go, go, go from the Mediterranean all the way to the Bahamas and then back to the Mediterranean.
I spoke to Captain Sandy recently, and she was thrilled by the progress you made since the last time you worked together. Was it important to prove yourself to her?
Oh, so much. Bear in the mind, last season with Nathan, Bri and Ellie, that was my second big boat ever. I was fairly new to the industry, and I still made it all the way to lead deckhand. I’ve not only got to prove to Captain Sandy I can do the job, but I’ve also got to prove to myself that I can do this job and the next job and the one after that. I’ve just been absolutely smashing it every single day, every month. And I’m still learning.
I was so happy to see you and Nathan reunited. I’ve actually rewatched that first embrace several times! What was it like to see him again?
It was fantastic. I levitated from the floor and got spun around. I’m surprised I didn’t get dizzy and fall over [laughs]. Throughout the season, you see our friendship is good and the banter is just crazy. It’s a mad season.
This season marks Nathan’s first one as a bosun. How did you support him through this step in his career?
So being a bosun is very hard. It’s not just the level of work and the manual labor, you’ve got to be organized as well. You’ve got to be on point. You’ve got to be in it to win. I’d just been a bosun on a boat before I joined Nathan on the Bravado. I was there to support him regardless of any position, regardless of anything, even a friendship. I just want to support another man’s job.

I know you’ve watched the show by now. What did you think of Christian and Tessa, the two deckhands that got fired just before you were brought back?
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t want to be disrespectful or anything. I’ve never met them, but I’ve never seen two more incapable deckhands, to put it lightly. I just want to be respectful, but, Tess, open your mouth. Christian, don’t be so aggressive on deck. There’s no room for aggression on a yacht.
I am very hopeful that you and Max are going to get along, despite him maybe doing a bit more of the work. What were your first impressions of him?
The dynamic between me and Max is definitely something [laughs]. You’ve got to watch it because he’s my new best French mate.
I’m glad to hear it! They say history is doomed to repeat itself, and I fear you might be heading for a love triangle with your two stews, Kizzi and V. When did you first know you were going to be in trouble?
From the moment my toe stepped on board [laughs].
What drew you to Kizzi?
We’re both British. We’ve got a level of banter between us that we both understand. She’s also just completely outrageous. I’m not going to say she’s the girl version of me, but she’s pretty close. [laughs] She’s just ready for anything down there. She has a partner and stuff like that, so I wanted to respect that, but she’s mad in the best way possible.
What drew you to V?
She got like this lion’w mane of hair. I love that. V is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. She’s a very kind, very innocent person. We all love Victoria. She’s a very good friend of mine, actually.
Aesha compared you to a ‘big bad shark” and V to an “innocent little fish.” Do you feel those are apt comparisons?
I love Aesha and I know what she was getting at with the big bad shark thing, but I don’t agree. Sharks are predators. They hunt. I’m not a hunter, but I do like to navigate the waters.
Obviously, we’ve got a lot of season left to go. What can you tease about the dynamic between yourself, Kizzi, and V?
Let me just say it’s unapologetically chaotic, and that’s my stance on it.
I do want to ask about Gael’s visit to see Nathan this season when they were on a break. I know you can’t say much, but was he nervous or happy that she was coming?
Nathan has got a really strong bond with Gayle, and it’s beautiful to see. He was obviously nervous at the time because he loves this woman.
How did you feel to see her again? I know she had some issues with you over the course of last season.
Good. Me and Gael, we don’t really get along. Aesha said something recently on Watch What Happens Live that really opened my eyes. She said, “it’s okay for people not to be friends because it’s statistically impossible for all our personalities to align.” It’s okay that me and Gael aren’t friends. It’s just how it is. It’s life. But would I like to make amends? Of course I would. If there are any melodramatics or any animosity, I’d like to throw them down in the bin and start from fresh.
Well, you both love Nathan, so I think that’s a great starting point.
I do too.

I watched you on a WWHL last week when Captain Sandy revealed that she is not a fan of your eyebrows, which you took with grace! Did that take you by surprise?
I adore and love this woman, and then she has the audacity to make a comment about my eyebrows? Okay, I might have a bit of lower back pain because of the weight of them, and I’m walking with a bit of a stance [laughs]. These little things, these slugs, they’re part of my face and my personality, I suppose.
Is that the first time you have gotten that feedback from a woman?
No, it happens daily [laughs].
Also, I don’t know if you realized, but during one of your previous appearances on WWHL, you outed the relationship between Southern Hospitality stars Joe Bradley (the American one) and Maddi Reese to the world. Had you any idea what you did? Did you hear from them at all?
No. I was cringing in my bedroom after I realized what I’d done. I even called me mom and said, “I fucked up.” She goes, “Why? What’s going on with the American Joe Bradley?” I tell her, “He’s upset with me because I’ve just released the fact that he’s in a relationship.” She was like, “don’t worry about, it’s not that deep.” Two days later, there was a news article. Four days later, Joe messaged me saying, “what are you doing?” [Laughs] I was just having a good time in Miami! I didn’t realize that he was hiding a relationship, but we’re over it now.
Have you spoken to him and Maddi since?
Yeah, yeah. Me and Joe, we speak all the time. We send memes to each other; we send voice notes. I’m in America now. I haven’t got the time to travel over to Charleston, but I wish I could. We’re always in contact. Actually, shout out to the American Joe Bradley!
Lastly, what can you tease about the rest of the season?
Oh, this season is amazing. What I lived through is crazy. It’s utterly chaotic. As you watch it, you’ll find out how many different avenues of chaos there were on that boat. It wasn’t just me! It was everybody. Nobody got a break.
