Bayern Munich vs. Flamengo odds, picks

Bayern Munich and Flamengo will do battle on Sunday afternoon for a spot in the quarterfinals at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Bayern entered the tournament as one of the favorites to lift the trophy, but now finds itself in a tough section of the draw after failing to win Group C because of a loss to Benfica in their last match.

Flamengo has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the tournament, winning Group D ahead of Chelsea.

Bayern is a -325 favorite to advance, and is -170 to win the match in regulation.

Although Bayern was disappointing in their defeat against Benfica, they were not done any favors by their schedule.

The Bavarians smoked Auckland City, 10-0, in their opening match, and then defeated Boca Juniors, 2-1, to automatically qualify for the Round of 16. That took a lot of the sting out of their match with Benfica, who needed a result to guarantee passage.

Nonetheless, Bayern was expected to win and came up short. A similar effort against Flamengo will be punished, as the Brazilians have been outstanding in this tournament and in Brazil’s Serie A this season.

Flamengo’s defensive prowess has been on full display, conceding just two total goals in the group stage against Chelsea, LAFC, and ES Tunis, which was considered one of the toughest groups in the competition.

Bayern is on another level, talent-wise, compared to Flamengo, but FIlipe Luis has the Brazilian side in impeccable form.

They’ll be happy to defend and force Die Roten to break them down, hoping to hit the Germans on the counterattack and punish any mistakes.

It’s a formula that has worked for Flamengo in Brazil and in the group stage, but will be a lot tougher to pull off against one of the best clubs in the world.

Nonetheless, I think Flamengo can make a real go of this, and will keep things tight for much of the match.
