Schumer failed to keep his own Democratic Caucus in line as eight members broke ranks to forge a deal with Republicans ending the shutdown without securing promises on Obamacare premium hikes – the main reason for the record-breaking face-off, leaders with the Save America Movement raged.

“Chuck Schumer is an appeaser and a weakling,” said Steve Schmidt, the group’s co-founder who managed John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign and helped create the President Trump-dissing Lincoln Project.

“His service as Senate Leader has been a moral disaster and a political failure rivaled only by MAGA itself.”

The bipartisan deal triggered a meltdown among Democrats and progressives across the nation, including New York.

Gov. Kathy Hochul — the highest elected Dem in state government — bitterly opposed the deal.

“Ending the shutdown shouldn’t come at the expense of health care for tens of millions of Americans,” she posted on X.

“This deal paves the way for devastating premium hikes that will drive up costs for New Yorkers. Count me out.”

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani likewise opposed what he argued would dramatically hike healthcare premiums and exacerbate an affordability crisis.

“It should be rejected, as should any politics willing to compromise on the basic needs of working people,” he posted.

Mamdani’s allies with the left-wing Working Families Party quickly sent out a fundraising email to capitalize on the rage — and, without even naming Schumer, clearly were spoiling for the end of his nearly three-decade-long tenure in the Senate.

“After 40 days of holding out, Democrats got nothing. This is the failure of establishment politics,” the WFP seethed.

“If you’re fed up with Democrats who won’t fight, join us as a dues-paying member.”

Schumer, for his part, maintained he won’t vote for the controversial compromise.

“I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis,” he posted on X.
