Anne Hathaway wears vintage red Valentino Couture gown for 2025 WWD Honors in NYC

Anne Hathaway is a vision in red.

Valentino red, that is.

In attendance for New York City’s 2025 WWD Honors, Hathaway dipped into the archives for her stunning look, choosing a red gown from Valentino’s 2003 Haute Couture collection.

The gown featured a layered silk chiffon silhouette, with bow-tied straps that were echoed by several ribbon closures throughout the flowing skirt.

With matching red shoes, she chose subtle diamond drop earrings and a bangle on her left wrist for added sparkle.

Having just wrapped filming on the much-anticipated “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” Hathaway has been flying high with her noteworthy fashion moments lately.

There are, perhaps, few more iconic looks than a red Valentino gown. Inspired as a child by both the costumes of George Bizet’s opera, “Carmen,” as well as the prominent hue of the guests he sat beside, Valentino Garavani was instantly captivated by the rich tone.

The designer has included a red dress in each of his collections since his debut in 1959. He took his final bow in January 2008 with a finale of models dressed all in red for the spring 2008 Haute Couture show.

This is not the first time Hathaway has worn the iconic Valentino red, nor the first vintage piece of its kind that’s found its way into her wardrobe.

In 2018, the actress wore a voluminous red Valentino gown to the Met Gala, while at the 2011 Academy Awards, she wowed in a red Valentino Haute Couture gown pulled from the Fall/Winter 2002 runway collection.

Though Hathaway’s red carpet appearances are somewhat rare, she certainly knows how to make a statement.
