Ana Ivanović files for divorce from retired soccer pro Bastian Schweinsteiger

It’s over for Ana Ivanović and former Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Ivanović, once the top-ranked tennis player in the world, has reportedly filed for divorce from her spouse of nine years — just months after her rep confirmed in July the couple had parted ways due to “irreconcilable differences,” according to German outlet BILD.

The Serbian athlete, 38, filed divorce docs last month in Munich District Court, per BILD, which previously reported marital strife between Ivanović and Schweinsteiger, 41, in the spring.

Ivanović resides in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with the couple’s three sons and is believed to have filed for child support there.

Although distance was speculated to be a challenge, Schweinsteiger — who was in Jakarta as of an April BILD report — found himself at the center of romance rumors in June, when images of the retired German soccer pro kissing a woman are said to have emerged.

BILD also reported an “affair” dating back to the summer of 2024.

When reached for comment about reported marital troubles in the spring, Schweinsteiger’s camp told BILD he and Ivanović do not discuss private matters.

Ivanović married Schweinsteiger in 2016, two years after they were first linked.

Her last public appearance with Schweinsteiger was during the Laver Cup in September 2024, per BILD.

Ivanović, who retired in 2016, won the French Open in 2008 and reached the final at the Australian Open that same year.

As for Schweinsteiger, he played professionally for Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chicago Fire before retiring in 2019. He then pivoted to broadcasting as an analyst.
