Perhaps best known as the look that broke the internet, Valletta slipped into the exact barely-there green plunging Versace dress worn by Jennifer Lopez to the 2000 Grammy Awards.

The dress, in fact, truly did make a mark on the interwebs, credited with inspiring the creation of Google Images.

Once J.Lo stepped onto the red carpet in 2000, written search inquiries for the dress overwhelmed Google’s servers, prompting the company to create an image search function.

While Lopez might have made the gown famous, it was actually Valletta who wore the look first.

Walking in the spring 1999 Versace runway show, then-26-year-old Valletta modeled the now iconic look. She was also the face behind that season’s ad campaign, photographed wearing the same revealing gown.

“This dress has been Googled more times than any other look in history,” Valletta shared with Vogue, adding, “It literally broke the internet when [Lopez] wore it, so it’s kind of cool to be a part of that history.”

In homage to its fame, the model also wore a short version of the dress to open the spring 2000 show the following year.

Then, Lopez herself wore a recreation of the look for the Versace spring 2020 show, surprising attendees who stood from their seats in applause.

Now, more than 25 years later, the most Googled dress in history has returned to Valletta.

It was an apt choice, as the model was in attendance to present Donatella Versace with the Positive Change Award, which honored the designer for her LGBTQ+ advocacy and philanthropy.

While Valletta was always going to choose a Versace look for the occasion, she’s helping to break the internet once again — and make great use of that Google Image search history — with her very poignant choice.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
