Harriman, 47, hit out at Sweeney, 28, in Wednesday’s caption for not saying she was “horrified” by the “Great Jeans” ad being “amplified and celebrated by unrepentant racists who believe in eugenics.”
He urged the “Christy” star to “at least recognize the harm [the] jeans campaign has caused,” noting that “the play on words is clear as day and racists LOVED it!”
Harriman concluded, “So, presuming you didn’t know when you shot it, you certainly do now, and it matters. This ain’t it!”
Wood commented on the post with a vomiting emoji, according to a screenshot captured by the Daily Mail.
Social media users celebrated Wood’s reaction, with one writing that they “couldn’t agree more.”
Another called the “Sex Education” alum, 31, a “real one,” with a third adding, “CLOCK IT SIS.”
Reps for Wood and Sweeney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Sweeney’s July ad, notably, highlighted her “great jeans” — crossed out to read “genes” — and was likened at the time to Nazi propaganda.
President Trump publicly backed the campaign, calling it “fantastic” via Truth Social and celebrating Sweeney’s registered Republican status.
Sweeney spoke about his show of support in Tuesday’s cover story, calling it “surreal” with a smile.
She added, “I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So, I didn’t really see a lot of [the backlash].”
“I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise. But … I love jeans!” Sweeney continued. “All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt, like, every day of my life.”
Prior to the GQ sitdown, Sweeney had dodged questions about the ad on multiple occasions.
She remained tight-lipped on the topic while speaking to the Wall Street Journal in August.
The following month, the “Immaculate” star told Vanity Fair she was not at the Toronto International Film Festival “to talk about jeans.”
In the September interview, Sweeney insisted, “I am there to support my movie and the people involved in making it. … That’s what I will be there to talk about.”
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
