The deal includes $141 million guaranteed, the most ever guaranteed to a non-quarterback.

The 25-year-old pass rusher was the NFL sacks leader last year before suffering a season-ending leg injury in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Drafted second overall in 2022, Hutchinson started all 17 games in each of his first two seasons, racking up 28.5 sacks and earning a Pro Bowl nod in his sophomore campaign.
Going into 2025, Hutchinson was adamant that his leg injury wouldn’t slow him down — and he was right. He’s rattled off six sacks and four forced fumbles through the team’s first seven games.

The Lions, off to an impressive 5-2 start, have wasted no time locking up their burgeoning young core before they hit free agency.
Hutchinson joins defensive tackle Alim McNeill, offensive tackle Penei Sewell, receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and safety Kerby Joseph as the latest young Lions star to receive a long-term extension.
