They are searching for answers on how to clean up their game — from turnovers to penalties to actually playing defense.

Glenn’s message to the team this week was to focus on consistency and the details.

He saw this trip as a time when the team could hunker down together and tune out everything going on outside the locker room.

“When it comes to this week, listen, I really love the idea of us getting away, get a chance to get in this hotel, be able to vibe together as a group,” Glenn said, “be able to understand exactly the things we have to do to what we have to work on to improve on where we’re at. And our guys are doing a really good job of that.”

Glenn is the first coach in Jets history to begin his career 0-5, something he is not trying to duck.

“Listen, we know exactly where we’re at, we’re not hiding from that fact,” Glenn said. “Yes, we are 0-5, we understand that, and we understand that we have a lot of work to do, and we’re not running from that at all.”

The Broncos (3-2) come into this game off a big win over the Eagles.

Denver coach Sean Payton is one of Glenn’s mentors.

Glenn played and coached for Payton in New Orleans. Now, Glenn squares off with Payton and a strong Broncos team as he tries to get his first win.

If the Jets are to get that win, it’s going to start with their defense showing signs of life.

They enter this game allowing 31.4 points per game with zero takeaways, the first team in NFL history to start off with five games without one.

They have not been pressuring the quarterback.

They lead the league in missed tackles.

It has been bad, bad, bad.

“When you look at it, when you see guys that are running open, when you see missed tackles, when you see angles of pursuit, when you see all those things, just the little details of understanding how to play together, how to coordinate everything together as a unit,” Glenn said of his defense. “And, listen, that’s not one person. That’s us collectively, as a team, making sure that we get on the same page. And that’s why I like this situation that we’re in right now.”
