Aaron Glenn concedes Jets’ passing attack not yet up to snuff
Aaron Glenn admitted the obvious: The Jets’ attack through the air has to get better.
“Our passing game has to continue to improve, just in a number of ways,” the new Jets coach said before practice Monday. “I thought there were some things that were good [in Saturday’s scrimmage] when it comes to our passing game, but just overall, the totality of it, I think we got to improve in that aspect.”

What followed couldn’t have made him feel any better.
The aerial attack remained grounded as Justin Fields’ uneven training camp continued.
Fields completed just 4 of 16 passes in a shaky practice.
There were two drops, both by Garrett Wilson.
The former Ohio State stars were not in sync.
On one play during red zone drills, a Fields pass hit Wilson in the stomach.
He wasn’t expecting the ball. Otherwise, Fields was frequently off target, overthrowing open receivers or forcing passes into traffic.
There was one highlight: A bomb to running back Breece Hall.
Hall made a terrific, acrobatic catch, laying out for the long throw.
Glenn said Fields is getting better, even if the results in practice haven’t quite been there.
“When you go back and you really look at the tape, there’s some throws that he missed, but there’s also some throws that he made that are really good throws that we have to make sure we catch also,” Glenn said. “So, that goes both ways from his part, with some of those throws he has to make and then some of the guys have to make catches.”
Glenn declined to reveal how he plans to dole out playing time for his first preseason game as coach Saturday night at Green Bay.
He will share that information later in the week.
It seems likely Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook will get the bulk of the action under center.
The duo is battling it out to be the No. 3 quarterback.
They both received extra reps at the end of Monday’s practice, with backup Tyrod Taylor missing practice with a knee injury.
