Aaron Boone’s plans for Yankees infield with Jazz Chisholm moving to second

The Yankees aren’t moving Jazz Chisholm back to second base just for one night.

Aaron Boone revealed to “Talkin’ Yanks” on Tuesday that the 2025 All-Star, who had been playing third base since he returned from an oblique injury last month, will be the team’s second baseman moving forward.

The 27-year-old began the season as the team’s second baseman while DJ LeMahieu was sidelined.

“Yeah, I think so, and we’ll continue to work through it, depending on all the moving parts, things that could possibly happen,” Boone said when asked if the Chisholm move was for beyond Tuesday’s game against the Mariners.

“But I think right now, I want to move him back over there.”

Boone said Oswald Peraza will start at third base Tuesday.

Regarding whether Peraza and LeMahieu would now play third, Boone said, “We’ll just be fluid and we’ll see how it unfolds a little bit.”

The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Thursday that the Yankees have been calling teams about third basemen ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

The Rockies’ Ryan McMahon was one player they checked on, per Heyman.

In 59 games this season, Chisholm is hitting .245 with a .841 OPS, 15 home runs, 38 RBIs and 10 steals.

LeMahieu, 36, is hitting .266 with a .674 OPS, two homers and 12 RBIs in 45 games. He’s in the fifth season of a six-year, $90 million contract.

Peraza, 25, has a .154 average, .487 OPS, three homers and 13 RBIs in 57 games this year.
