The grand Beaux-arts hotel is a popular spot for visiting officials and luminaries, hosting former President Joe Biden during the APEC conference in 2023 and top-dollar fundraisers for politicians like Kamala Harris, who threw a ritzy fete last year with tickets costing up to $250,000.

It was packed with visitors around New Year’s Eve, workers said, but quiet Friday as staffers dismantled holiday decor like a life-size gingerbread house and bespoke lobby bar.

Jones was a “problem child” who ran into trouble with the law in the months before her death, sources told The Post.

She was known as a party animal in North Beach, a popular nightlife spot packed with bars and clubs.

A bouncer at Vesuvio, a popular bar in the neighborhood, recognized her and said she had been 86’ed for being intoxicated and rude.

“I’ve not let her in before and she’d be like “f—- you,’” he said.

In April, she was busted in Napa County for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, and obstructing a peace officer.

She was also charged with domestic battery and later released on bail.

Jones was reportedly found on the 14th floor after 3 a.m Thursday.

An official cause of death has not been revealed, but a law enforcement source said an overdose was likely.

“It was most likely fentanyl-related. People get all their drugs with fentanyl now,” the officer said. “They [drug dealers] have it on everything they measure with, everything gets laced.”
