What was supposed to be a thrilling pregame spectacle at the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday nearly turned into a disaster, as a parachuter got caught in the netting behind a goalpost.
The person was momentarily stuck near the netting approximately 35 feet above the ground by a wire at the top of the goalpost, before falling into a small crowd of people standing behind the end zone, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Bowl officials said the jumper was not injured and it did not appear that anyone was hurt on the ground, the Daily Mail reported.

Officials also said information regarding the parachuter involved in the incident was not immediately available.
The mishap occurred shortly before kickoff in the game between Rice and Texas State, as five parachuters, with flags attached, jumped from a small plane above Amon G. Carter Stadium.
But only three of the five appeared to land safely on the playing field, with the one getting snagged in the netting and another appearing to have missed the stadium.
The incident was captured by fans who were filming the stunt.
The group of jumpers were reportedly part of the All Veteran Group parachuting team, which consists of military veterans and performs at NFL and college football games.

The group made successful jumps prior to the 2021 Armed Forces Bowl.
Despite the problems, the start of the game, which was broadcast on ESPN, was not delayed.
