Will Netflix Have a New Year’s Eve Countdown For 2026?

Happy (almost) New Year!

Before we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026 with optimism, let’s talk about our streaming resolutions for the new year. For many, 2026 might be the time to start watching a pop culture classic you’re afraid to admit you’ve never seen.

A couple of years ago, I finally binged The Sopranos, and now I wish I could go back and watch it all again for the very first time. 2026 is the year to rectify your pop culture blind spot. So make some time to finally stream The Wire… or Mad Men… or Breaking Bad, or one of my personal all-time favorite comedies, The Larry Sanders Show.

If you’re a parent and you need some extra time tonight to start your 2026 binge, we suggest pressing play on an early countdown video for the kids. Netflix doesn’t have a ton of options, but we found a slew of fun countdown videos on YouTube that your kids will enjoy.

There are a variety of countdown options on Netflix and Netflix’s YouTube page, but it doesn’t look like the streamer will be adding any new countdowns to ring in 2026.

There are a variety of family-friendly countdown options available on Netflix and YouTube. Skylander’s Academy: New Year’s Eve Countdown is 90 seconds of amusement and is currently streaming on Netflix.
