Maniac slashes stranger with boxcutter, gets out on bail


A maniac repeatedly slashed a stranger with a boxcutter when the two inadvertently bumped into each other inside a Brooklyn subway station Monday afternoon — and now the suspect is free on bail, cops and sources said.

Caleb Polidore, 26, allegedly slashed a 33-year-old man in the face, neck and chest inside the 53rd Street R train station in Sunset Park around 1 p.m., police said.

The wild attack stemmed from an accidental bump as the two strangers passed each other near the turnstile area, police sources said.

Their verbal clash turned violent once they reached the mezzanine, police sources said. 

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, and Polidore ran off, only to be arrested nearby by quick-acting cops who also recovered the boxcutter, authorities said.

He was charged with assault, attempted assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment, according to a criminal complaint.

At around 1:40PM, MTA construction worker fell from scaffolding onto R-train express subway track below inside the 53rd street and 4th avenue R-train station in SunsetPark, Brooklyn.
The incident occurred on fenced of section.
The worker fell about 15ft and was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Polidore was ordered held on $3,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond – over prosecutors’ request for $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, the DA’s office said. 

He quickly posted bail and is due back in court on Jan. 2, according to prosecutors and online records.
