“This just feels so cringe to me,” Alyssa Farah Griffin added, noting that Trump is “heavily focused on his legacy” and ensuring that history books won’t refer to his time in the White House as a “fluke” thing that happened. That’s why, according to Griffin, he wants his own monument in Washington D.C., his name on different buildings, and why he has such a “heavy focus on the world stage.”

However, as Griffin noted, Trump promised on his campaign trail that he would bring back manufacturing and affordability—two important topics that many of his voters still feel strongly about.

“A lot of folks are just feeling like that’s not happening,” Griffin said. “His legacy is going to be that he did not live up to what he promised his voters if he doesn’t refocus back to what’s going on here in America. “

Goldberg piggybacked on Griffin’s point, claiming that Trump only cares about himself. The longtime moderator also warned that his legacy would fade into oblivion if he continued that way.

“His personal stuff, I could care less [about],” she began. “I want to know, what are you doing for us? You said you were gonna be the president for everybody, but you haven’t been the president for anybody. You’ve been the president just for you.”

“He said he was our president. He’s not our president,” she continued. “He’s a guy who likes to get butt-kissed. That’s what he is. I need you to be the president, or your legacy—what’s left of it—is gonna disappear and you will just be a footnote like gas in the desert.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
