Appearing alongside “Housemaid” co-star Amanda Seyfried in a new video for Allure, Sweeney directly addresses the fans who have criticized her for not being truthful about having plastic surgery.
Given the chance to speak out against a “beauty rumor,” Sweeney chose to refute those who insist that she has “gotten work done.”
“Let’s debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done,” Sweeney said matter-of-factly. “I am so scared of needles, you have no idea,” she added.
A few months ago, when speaking to Variety, she echoed her fear of needles, adding, “No tattoos. Nothing.”
Having entered Hollywood as an adolescent, Sweeney grew up not only in front of the camera but also in front of the world.
“You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course, I’m going to look different.”
“Everybody on social media’s insane,” she quipped.
Seyfried jumped in to clarify that there are, in fact, some procedures that can be “really effective once you get older,” adding “When you do…” to which Sweeney interjected, “I’ll call you.”
Seyfried, who also began modeling and acting at a young age, joked, “You gotta call me, and I’ll give you a little bit of Ativan, and you’ll be so excited… but you don’t need it yet.”
With a final laugh, the 28-year-old joked, “If I did, you guys, my face would be even,” referencing a wakeboarding accident that required stitches, resulting in one eye that “opens a little more than the other.”
Not only is Sweeney denying all plastic surgery rumors, but what’s more, the only surgery she has ever considered was actually a breast reduction — not augmentation.
Speaking to Glamour UK a few years ago, she shared, “When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my boobs were and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a boob job to make them smaller.”
It was her mom, though, that warned her against it, suggesting she might regret it later on. “And I’m so glad I didn’t. I like them. They’re my best friends,” she stated.
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
