Dave Portnoy is done with the ‘dishonest idiots’ on CFP committee
The College Football Playoff committee won’t be getting Christmas cards from a number of people after it released the 12-team field for the postseason, which has garnered plenty of controversy and led to the likes of Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy to call for changes.
Labeling the members of the committee as “dishonest idiots,” he called for college football to use the AP Top 25 poll in order to determine the College Football Playoff field.

“Here is a wild idea. Get rid of the committee which is filled with dishonest idiots and just take the top 12 in the AP poll. Probably solve a lot of problems,” Portnoy wrote on X.
One of the biggest controversies about this year’s playoff field is the fact that Alabama made the postseason while Notre Dame – one of the hottest teams in college football over the past two months – was left on the outside looking in.
Portnoy railed against the decision in a separate post, lambasting the reasoning behind why Alabama, which had lost to Oklahoma and was blown out in the SEC title game by Georgia, qualified for the CFP.
“This is when you knew ESPN and the SEC had it rigged for Bama no matter what,” Portnoy posted. “When they made it sound like Bama escaping Auburn who was so bad this year that they fired their coach was like beating the 85 Bears. They looked really good in the 1st half is such a hilarious line.”

Portnoy isn’t alone in his outrage, as the college football world seemed to collectively scratch its head over the committee’s decision.

The College Football Playoff begins on Dec. 19 when Alabama takes on Oklahoma in the Sooner State.
