Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West Accused Her Of Faking The Paris Robbery For A TV Show: “That Was A Knife To My Heart”

This week’s episode of The Kardashians is a heavy one for Kim Kardashian as she prepares to testify in the trial for the 2016 Paris robbery that changed her life forever.

The first half of the episode is spent recounting the details of that harrowing night when Kardashian was bound and held at gunpoint as masked robbers—who were disguised as police officers—stole more than $6 million in jewelry from her hotel room, including a $4 million diamond ring.

Kardashian shares how the robbers taped her mouth and eyes shut, and bound her hands and feet together. Noting that she was wearing nothing but a robe, Kardashian was sure at one point that she was going to be raped, but instead, they fled with her valuables.

In her confessional, Kardashian also opens up about the conspiracy theories claiming she staged the attack for a storyline on her reality show (then Keeping Up with the Kardashians). According to the SKIMS founder, even her then-husband Kanye West accused her of faking the robbery in front of an audience of people.

“Howard Stern was famously mocking it all the time and saying I’m sick and it was just a joke and I made it all up,” Kardashian says through tears. “I remember he was so defiant about it. I was like, how could you be so certain? People trust you. That always stuck with me, also.”

“Even my ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show.’ [He] said that in front of all these people,” she continues. “That was so a knife to my heart. Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life, it just really bothered me.”

Per Kardashian, getting to testify in court in front of the men who traumatized her was enough to debunk the outlandish rumors.

“To finally be able to go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, ‘See guys, it was real,’” she says. “I’m happy it’s over.”

Eight of the 10 men put on trial were ultimately found guilty, and while they were handed three to eight-year sentences, they will not return to prison due to time served.

New episodes of The Kardashians air every Thursday on Hulu.
