Death of Travis Barker’s rapper pal POORSTACY eyed as suicide, but family suspects foul play

The death of Travis Barker’s “Choose Life” rapper pal POORSTACY is being treated as a suicide — but the rising star’s family suspects foul play, according to a report.
The 26-year-old artist, whose real name is Carlito Milfort, was found with a gunshot to the head in a hotel room in Boca Raton, Florida, where he’d been staying with his young child and the kid’s mom, multiple sources told TMZ.

Milfort, famed for collaborating with the likes of Blink-182’s Barker, including the 2020 song “Choose Life,” initially survived, but died Monday after two days on life support, the sources said.
Although authorities have yet to confirm the rap star’s official cause of death, the sources told TMZ it is being treated as a suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot.
His family, however, believes something more sinister unfolded, a source close to the family told the outlet, without elaborating on what exactly they think happened.
Initial reports only said that Milfort was found having suffered a mysterious medical emergency. No one else was injured or admitted to hospital.
Milfort had checked into the hotel with a woman and a toddler — his child and partner, according to TMZ’s sources — 10 days before his death.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the tot and the woman were inside the hotel room with him when he died.
The musician, who had garnered acclaim and the attention of prominent artists, had teamed up with Barker on a slew of tracks — including the 2020 songs “Choose Life” and “Nothing Left.”
Barker, who is married to Kourtney Kardashian, paid tribute to the late rapper on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Rest in peace you’ll never be forgotten,” the drummer wrote over footage of them performing together.
He followed up with a clip of their track “Choose Life.”
Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Syke, who also collaborated with Milfort, posted a photo of the duo on his Instagram stories, writing: “R.I.P” with a black heart emoji.
