The E! series will share a glimpse into the Baby Phat founder’s life with her five kids: Ming, 25, Aoki, 23, Kenzo, 16, Gary, 16, and Wolfe, 10, and “bonus son” Jayden, 19.
Along with being a mother and running multi-million dollar businesses, Simmons is also rubbing elbows with royalty.
While at Kris Jenner’s star-studded 70th birthday bash last month, the media mogul bumped into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
“I did see them,” Simmons exclusively told The Post. “I saw them. We spoke. We talked. I see them though from time to time.”
“Very nice,” she added of the couple.
As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s status in Hollywood, the model stated: “They’re a little bit in and a little bit out.”
“They’re more far away from Hollywood,” quipped Simmons. “Montecito.”
Jenner’s birthday bash made headlines after Markle, 44, forced her and Kim Kardashian to take down photos of herself and Prince Harry at the party. Kardashian, 45, was reportedly “pissed” by the request.
“It’s so tacky,” a palace insider explained to Page Six at the time. “It truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family. These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy.”
Simmons coyly added to The Post: “Seems like some people got in trouble – maybe it was too fabulous. I don’t really know.”
While the runway star avoided the birthday drama, she has turned to her fellow momager, Jenner, for some sound advice over the years.
“Oh my gosh, I’ve learned so much from so many people,” Simmons gushed. “And I will just say, she has always been so kind to me and to my daughters and to my family. Just her sense of strength and resilience. We talk a lot about the kids and beauty and the business. And she’s always just so, so wonderful.”
As for the best pearl of wisdom she’s received from Jenner, the fashion icon shared: “I think to stay with it, stick in there, persevere. I feel like definitely a lot of the things I’ve learned about being like a part time [momager]. I always say I’m an unofficial momager. For sure, I would have learned that from people like her. She’s wonderful to me.”
Viewers will get to see Simmons put her “unofficial momager” skills to the test on “Back in the Fab Lane.”
And there was no hesitation from her brood to share their lives with the world.
“So my kids have always been in front of the camera in some way, shape or form or fashion,” Simmons explained. “I think they’re used to it. I want them to keep a level head. I want them to have fun. I want them to to not take themselves so seriously. I don’t think it’s too much pressure. And like I said, they’ve been there. All but two of my kids – I have five – two of them have not done this before.”
“But Ming, Aoki, Kenzo were born here like on this couch,” she teased. “Not exactly, but close! They’re okay. And I think they have a good handle of being a little bit in the business and also being able to have your business. They’re okay with that, and I’m okay with that.”
Simmons herself promised that “everything was open” during filming.
“There’s certain things I don’t like to get into,” she clarified. “If I’m not happy about a situation, I won’t call that person or situation by name. That is just my normal life, though, and they’re just picking up my normal life. If I think you’re on buzzard, I’m going to say that. You know who you are!”
“i call everything out,” Simmons added.” I’m just not necessarily going to say your name.”
The businesswoman was married to Russell Simmons from 1998 to 2009 and Tim Leissner from 2014 to 2022.
Now, Simmons wants to clears up any doubts that she isn’t self-made.
“I read stuff all the time,” the reality star vet expressed. “One misconception I think is out there is that to get where I’ve gotten, I’ve had to take that from someone or do certain things to get where I’ve gotten as opposed to having been working since I was 10 or that a woman can be an entrepreneur on her own.”
“Or that a woman has to get it from her husband or her ex-husband, whether that’s credibility or funds,” Simmons noted.
And when it comes to her career, as Simmons puts it: “I’m always growing.”
“Always,” she reiterated. “Always expanding. We’ve entered into different territories all over the world: Asia, Europe. I’ve expanded into food and beverage, skincare, health, beauty, obviously fashion. I don’t know what the next big thing is. I’m always just one step in front of the other.”
