He was charged years later in abstentia after DNA testing linked him to the crime, officials said.

Authorities said they still don’t know the motive for the slayings of Sasikala Narra, 38, and her young son Anish.

Hameed became a person of interest in the case when investigators learned he had been accused of stalking Narra.

Narra’s horrified husband discovered the bodies of his wife and the boy after returning home from a work event.

Detectives found a single droplet of blood at the scene that didn’t belong to either victim, and after years of attempting to obtain a DNA sample placing him there, his employer, Cognizant Technology Solutions, handed over his laptop, which yielded the sample they needed to bring charges.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw is urging the US and Indian governments to swiftly extradite Hameed to face first-degree murder charges. FBI Newark

“We call upon the United States government and the government of India to take swift and decisive action to ensure that this individual is extradited without delay,” Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw told ABC News.

Family lawyer Donald Browne called the crime “shocking more than anything else.

“The family is very appreciative of all the authorities. That they didn’t give up. That they kept fighting,” he said.
