Scarlett Johansson Curses On ‘Today’ While Guest Hosting With Jenna Bush Hager: “I Hope We Can Bleep Out That Word”

Scarlett Johansson is getting quite comfortable being back in the co-host chair on Today With Jenna & Friends.

While debating holiday topics with Today host Jenna Bush Hager, the Jurassic World Rebirth actress unabashedly cursed on the air as she tried to make a case for why everyone should open their Christmas presents at the same time during a tense game of The Great Debate.

“Y’all know how much I love Scarlett but sometimes even besties have their disagreements,” Bush Hager teased at the top of the segment.

Johanssons’ competitive streak already began to shine as she then pointed out that she beat her husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost, at this game the last time she co-hosted the show.

Bush Hager and Johansson both got 20 seconds to defend their case. While Bush Hager made a clean case about why she believes everyone should take turns opening their presents and “take the time to be appreciative,” Johansson was not buying it.

“Absolutely not. I say free for all,” she declared as Bush Hager laughed. “I don’t want to sit there and wait for every single person to open their presents.”

She was then censored as she continued ranting, “The kids are going absolutely *******, by the way, in the back because they can’t wait open up that next present give the kids what they want. That’s what Christmas is all about.”

Neither Johansson nor Bush Hager seemed particularly shocked by her on-air slip-up.

“I hope we can beep out that word!” Bush Hager commented. She then told the producers who voted on who won each round, “I would take that into consideration as you vote.” But Johansson still scored the point on that won, making her a two-time winner of The Great Debate on Today.

It’s always fun when Johansson visits Today With Jenna & Friends. She and Bush Hager hit it off when she first co-hosted the fourth hour of Today in early 2025 and she’s been openly gunning for the permanent co-host position ever since.

“I went to bed last night and I was like, buzzing,” she told Bush Hager on her second day guest-hosting in January. “I was so excited, I like prepared everything for today… I love this job!”

Bush Hager even joked that they could change the name to Today With Jenna & Scarlett and start a GoFundMe so they can afford to keep Johansson on full-time.
