Crew Members And A Vomit Machine Spotted In ‘Mad Men’s Sloppy 4K Remaster On HBO Max
Mad Men‘s highly anticipated 4K remaster is finally available on HBO Max for fans to stream. But this shiny new edit came with quite a few hiccups, as well.
Some eagle-eyed fans on X pointed out that the 4K remaster seems to feature some glaring editing issues. Not only do some of the episodes seem to be out of order, but at least one episode shows two crew members in the shot behind Jon Hamm and John Slattery holding a vomiting machine.

The scene in question happens in Season 1, Episode 7, “Red In The Face,” when Slattery’s Roger Sterling throws up in front of clients after overindulging during an oyster lunch with Don Draper. But since the episodes are also listed out of order on HBO Max, viewers hoping to catch the moment will have to stream Season 1, Episode 6, “Babylon.”
A user pointed it out on X, writing, “The new 4K transfer of mad men on HBO somehow does not have any of the post-production edits added in, which means you get stuff like this where you can see the crew member manning the puke machine after Roger has too many oysters lmao.”
Others speculated that it may have to do with the aspect ratio, while some pointed out that the crew members seem to have been edited out in the original version of the show.

Fans on X slammed the streamer for the careless mistake.
“Indicative of the lack of care that companies seem to have nowadays about the ACTUAL quality of the product they’re delivering,” one viewer wrote.
HBO announced the 4K remaster in November, promising fans “authentically-crafted elements with crisp detail and enhanced visual clarity.” The hit AMC series was previously only available on AMC+ and ad-supported streamers.
Often hailed as one of the best of its time, Mad Men set a record nabbing four consecutive Best Drama Emmy awards and 16 total wins.
Now, fans can finally watch the hit series in its entirety in crisp detail… with some accidental Easter eggs along the way.
Mad Men is streaming now on HBO Max.
