Ana Navarro’s outrageous Dem flattery, Chris Murphy’s ‘starving kids’ lie and more

This assertion:

“Democrats simply don’t have the cold-heartedness necessary to see people suffering.” — CNN commentator Ana Navarro, Monday 

We say: Oh, brother. Navarro claims Democrats finally cracked on the government shutdown because they’re just too caring to witness Americans’ pain from missed paychecks and halted benefits — completely ignoring that Dems caused the suffering in the first place, and were A-OK with letting it drag on until after the Nov. 4 elections because their candidates benefitted from voters blaming the GOP.

That’s as cold-hearted as it gets.

This claim:

“Trump is starving kids in order to deny families health care.” — Sen. Chris Murphy, Sunday 

We say: Democrats were the ones using SNAP recipients as leverage to try to force Republicans to agree to $1.5 trillion in extra spending.

By Sunday night, hours after making this gross accusation, Murphy was slamming Democrats who voted for the GOP bill to reopen the government and fully fund SNAP until next September. So “starving kids” don’t matter much to Chris at all.

This charge:

“Donald Trump just issued a blank check to break the law.” — Biden Pardon Attorney Liz Oyer, Wednesday

We say: Oyer fear-mongered to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow about Trump’s pardons of political allies.

That’s rich: She was the Justice Department pardon attorney under Joe Biden, who went on a pardon spree during his final weeks in office, granting blanket immunity to his brother, his in-laws and his influence-peddling, tax-evading, crack-smoking son Hunter Biden for decades of possible crimes.

That massive abuse of pardon power earned crickets from Oyer.

This headline:

“Trump Aid Cuts Kill More Christians Than Jihadists Do” — The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof, Friday 

We say: Kristof is using Trump’s outrage over out-of-control Islamist groups slaughtering Nigerian Christians to finger-wag over the administration ending USAID funding.

Yet he has no evidence for his absurd claim that Trump is doing more harm, saying only it’s “too soon to predict confidently” how many Nigerians will be hurt by the loss of aid, and lamely asserting that “the number killed by jihadists is very likely to pale” in comparison.

Ah, well! No need for facts when smearing Trump is the goal.
