Beloved Connecticut meteorologist Geoff Fox passed away Wednesday after an 8-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

“For many people, Geoff Fox was the weather,” Fox 61, one of his longtime homes on the airwaves, said in a touching tribute Tuesday.

Fox, 75, spent nearly 30 years forecasting the weather on Connecticut television stations, and became known for his enthusiasm, humor, and ability to explain complex weather situations to viewers.

He calmly informed Connecticut through countless severe weather situations over the years, including Hurricane Gloria in 1985, Hurricane Bob in 1991, and the infamous 1993 blizzard, according to Fox 61.
