Did Whitney Leavitt Quit ‘The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’? Fans Concerned After She Goes Missing From First 4 Episodes Of Season 3

Whitney Leavitt is full of surprises.

After burning bridges with MomTok in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 1, Leavitt decided to leave the group, only to come back the next season ready to make amends with her former friends. Following several rounds of apologies, Leavitt was eventually voted back into MomTok in the Season 2 finale. But based on her growing friendship with Demi Engemann—who had, on the contrary, been voted out of MomTok—Leavitt seemed to be back at odds with the other women after Season 2 aired in May. In fact, when Season 3 rolled around, Leavitt was nowhere to be found … for the first four episodes, at least.

So, did Leavitt quit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? And will she be a part of future seasons? Keep reading for everything we know.

Did Whitney Leavitt Quit The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

The answer is yes and no. During contract negotiations for Season 3, Leavitt decided to leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Not only was she not given a role in a scripted show, per her request, but she was “exhausted” from trying to rebuild friendships in a group that clearly didn’t want her there. She had also moved to St. George, UT, to be closer to the rest of her family, and the far proximity pushed her even further away from the rest of the group.

However, by the time Episode 5 rolled around, Leavitt was back to filming. Why? Because each girl in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was given the opportunity to audition for Dancing with the Stars, but only if they were actively a part of the reality show. While Leavitt did admit that she missed the sisterhood, she seemed to come to terms with the fact that MomTok is a business, and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t cash in that bag (or her chance at winning the Mirrorball Trophy).

Will Whitney Leavitt Be In The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4?

This is always the million-dollar question. Leavitt first quit MomTok at the end of Season 1, but then she came back with her tail between her legs for Season 2. When she shockingly befriended Demi Engemann after Season 3 and decided to step away from the show, it seemed like her fate had been sealed, but come Episode 5, and she was right back on our screens. So, will she continue to film for Season 4? If Hulu moves forward with a fourth season—which, based on the show’s success, feels like a given—Leavitt will likely be a part of it. Now, this is just speculation, but on Halloween night at Dancing with the Stars, Leavitt also said she was currently filming two reality shows, meaning it’s possible that production for Season 4 had already begun. After all, the cameras kept rolling after the Season 2 cliffhanger and continued to follow MomTok right up until their Season 2 premiere, so it wouldn’t surprise us if Season 3 into Season 4 followed the same trajectory. On the contrary, we know how Leavitt loves to throw a curveball, so we won’t know anything for certain until it comes from her Mormon lips.
