AJ Brown doubles down on Eagles frustration after ‘s–tshow’ comments
AJ Brown wants the Eagles’ offense to do its part.
That’s the message the outspoken wide receiver delivered Wednesday when speaking to the media, hours after raising eyebrows during a “Madden” livestream, where he likened the current state of affairs to a “s–tshow.”

“It’s not just solely about my situation,” Brown said. “Obviously, I want to win, too. I think if we’re really focusing on winning and doing our job, we can’t just keep slapping the Band-Aid over the defense doing their job and getting us out of trouble. At what point are we going to pick up our slack as an offense that we’re so great, you know? That’s what I’m getting at.”
Warning: Explicit language

The Eagles are flying high at 7-2 after a low-scoring 10-7 win over the Packers on Monday, but Brown wants the offense to be more of a contributor as Philadelphia looks to defend its Super Bowl title.
The All-Pro wideout, who has tallied just 408 yards and three touchdowns through eight games, has taken to social media to vent his frustrations, leading to speculation about his overall happiness with the club.
“It’s not about I don’t care about winning and all I care about is stats,” Brown said. “No. It’s been week after week sometimes, we’re not contributing, we’re not doing our job on offense. You can’t just keep slapping the Band-Aid over that.
“You expect to win late in the year, and you think you can go to it at the end of the year, it’s not going to f–king happen. It’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen. Last year is what it was. Thanks for the ring, but it’s a new season. We have to adapt. We have to continue to get better, to find new ways. That’s where the frustration comes in. It’s not about winning, you guys. I want to win, yes. I want to help contribute to it as well. Do our thing on offense as well. I think that’s fair.”

The offense, guided by first-year coordinator Kevin Patullo, who succeeded Kellen Moore, ranks 25th in passing yards per game (191.7) and 23rd in yards per game (303.2). The run game, led by reigning Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley, is 21st in rush yards per game with 111.6.
Meanwhile, the Eagles’ defense ranks 19th in yards allowed with 327.9.
Brown added Wednesday he’ll “fall on that sword over and over again” in getting the message across.
“I don’t care if I’m misunderstood. I’ll stand up in front of there and fall on that sword over and over again. It’s about doing what we’re supposed to be doing on offense, and if we are really in this business to try and get better, we gotta do what we gotta do. And not just say, ‘Oh, it’s about wins. As long as you got the win, it’s cool.’ No, you cannot do that, not in this league. You gotta continue to get better. We gotta do what we have to do on offense to help the defense, to help the special teams,” he said.

On the subject of a now-viral exchange that transpired over a “Madden” livestream — in which Brown responded to a question about his well-being: “Like, family good, yeah. Everything else? No. … It’s a s–tshow. … You on, ‘How you been?’ I’m struggling, brother” — the star receiver said he was just “having fun with my friend” amid a challenging time.
“Just talking to my friend, having fun with my friend. I’m not apologizing for that. Cause if you have eyes, you can see that. It’s not that I was throwing anybody under the bus. I’m literally trying to laugh through this s–t. This s–t is tough,” he said.
Unsurprisingly, the recent turmoil was broached at Nick Sirianni’s media address Wednesday, with the coach reaching a breaking point on questions about his candid wideout.
“Guys I’m close to being done answering these questions about this. He’s working hard and he is a big part of the game plan, and will be going forward. He’s working like crazy when he’s here and we’re excited to have him,” he said.
