Bloody mugshot shows dad who jumped out of driver’s seat — leaving family behind in moving car on Florida highway
A father allegedly jumped out of the driver’s seat of his family vehicle on a Florida highway, leaving his wife and three kids behind inside the moving car in a chaotic scene sparked by an alleged domestic violence incident, according to authorities.
Police received a 911 call on Tuesday from a child who said her parents, later identified as Heather and Albert Searcy, were fighting while driving down Highway 79, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Cops responded to the scene and located the vehicle, quickly activating emergency sirens to get Albert Searcy, who was in the driver’s seat, to stop the car, police said.
The car continued driving northbound before Albert Searcy opened the door and jumped out of the moving vehicle, police said.
Heather Searcy then quickly crawled to the center console and stopped the vehicle with their three kids inside, police said.
After making contact with the family, deputies saw signs that the family matriarch had been involved in a physical altercation and noted she had suffered injuries to her face.
She said she had requested throughout the scary ride that Albert stop the vehicle and let the children exit, but he allegedly repeatedly refused, cops added.

Upon noticing their child had called 911, the dad also allegedly “struck” the child and took the phone away, according to authorities.
The family had briefly moved to the area from Louisiana and was in the process of returning to the Pelican State, Heather told deputies.
The family was cleared by medics, and Albert was taken into custody at the Washington County Jail, police said.
The father’s mugshot shows his face bloodied and dejected from his alleged antics.
He has been hit with a slew of charges, including tampering with or harassing a witness, domestic violence battery, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest without violence, child abuse, false imprisonment, and driving while license suspended or revoked, authorities said.
