‘RHONJ’ star Dolores Catania gets engaged to Paulie Connell — in an Apple Store with a 15-carat diamond ring

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania finally got engaged to Paul “Paulie” Connell … in an Apple Store … with a 15-carat diamond ring.

The Irish businessman proposed on Monday — on the fourth anniversary of Catania moving in with him — at the place where they first met five years ago.

“I could have proposed on a yacht in Greece. I could have rented a grand hall, invited 400 people and asked her to marry me with fireworks in the background. But that’s not who we are,” Connell, 51, told People on Wednesday.

“I didn’t want anything over-the-top and staged because we’re a humble couple. I wanted it to feel grounded and natural and organic. Plus, I wanted the element of surprise. And believe me, I had the element of surprise.”

Catania, 54, admitted she “had not a clue at all.”

“In fact,” she elaborated, “I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance for him! He was sweating so bad, his T-shirt was soaked, his face was beet red. And you know how people say weird things when they’re having a stroke? He started saying these sweet, beautiful things to me out of nowhere, and I was like, ‘Paul, are you OK?’ And then I realized he was proposing.”

Before Connell got down on one knee, he was chatting with employees about how he and Catania first met there. They first got to talking after realizing their phones “were broke[n] with the same things at the same time.”

Then one staffer — who was in on the plan — escorted the couple over to the spot of their first interaction, which prompted Catania to blurt out, “This is the table where we were standing! Wouldn’t it be funny if we got engaged here?”

And then they did.

“I immediately said yes,” the “ecstatic” Bravolebrity — who shares two adult children with her first husband, Frank Catania — shared.

“The whole thing was so sincere and so thoughtful. And then when I came home, there was over 1,000 roses waiting for me. I mean, he really hit it out of the park.”

He certainly did; Connell presented Dolores with a show-stopping ring comprised of an 11-carat center stone framed by four more carats and a band lined with princess-cut diamonds.

Connell has had the bauble for over a year and a half, but his proposal kept getting delayed. First, Frank got engaged to his now-wife, Brittany Mattessich, and then the exes’ son, Frankie Catania, popped the question to his now-fiancée, Nicole Perricho.

“I kept saying to myself, ‘Maybe no one wants me to marry Dolores?!’” Connell quipped.

When it comes to the wedding itself, the two are in “no rush.”

“The way we’ve set our life up, we can do things however and whenever we want to do them,” Dolores explained, “and I don’t do things based on what people think I should do. I’ve never done that. Just ask my friends!”
